Research Interests

My research interests include numerous aspects of fungal genomics, diversity, ecology, taxonomy, systematics and genomic evolution. My previous research has focused namely on mating-type evolution in Basidiomycetes, fungal community ecology and roles in natural ecosystem processes, and biostatistics approaches. In my current project at Stukenbrock’s lab, I studying the Trichosporonales order to (1) address genome evolution associated with emergence of human fungal pathogens by comparative genomics; (2) determine specific physiological adaptations and genomic signatures associated with lifestyle transitions and (3) determine the taxonomic diversity within the group.
