Research Interests
I'm interested in the role that fungi play as part of a metaorganism and I'm particularly fascinated by the interactions between fungi and other microbiota. My master's thesis focused on the antagonistic interactions between the fungal wheat pathogen Zymoseptoria tritici and bacteria isolated from wheat plants. In my new project as a PhD student in the laboratory of Prof. Eva Stukenbrock I am now looking forward to work with the model organism Hydra as a host. My project aims to answer the questions: Which fungi are part of Hydra's microbiome and what is their functional relevance in the metaorganism?
